The Mt. Angel Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Mt. Angel Hazelnut Festival on December 6-7, 2014 in Mt. Angel.

The Hazelnut Fest includes a holiday Kristkindle Markt featuring regional arts and crafts, Oregon wineries and breweries and foods that feature Hazelnuts

MT. ANGEL, Ore. -- Mt. Angel Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the annual Mt. Angel Hazelnut Fest and German Holiday Market. The festival is the premier event of its kind in Oregon and celebrates one of the Willamette Valley’s largest agricultural crops.

The Hazelnut Fest includes a German Holiday Market featuring regional arts and crafts, authentic & traditional German Christmas Decorations and Crafts, Oregon wineries and breweries, as well as foods that highlight hazelnuts.

The festival will be held in this Bavarian Village’s Festhalle, December 6-7.

The Santiam Flycasters, Inc. is a group of men, women, and youths in the Salem area who have a common interest in fly fishing and have joined together to share their experiences and knowledge of the sport.  The club was incorporated as a non-profit organization in March of 1977. The Santiam Flycasters, Inc. is affiliated with the Federation of Fly Fishers. 
“We actively support the Salem chapter of Project Healing Waters, which is an organization for our wounded warriors, that utilizes fly tying and fly fishing as an integral part of ongoing physical and emotional therapy”, says Howard Palmer, President. “In addition, we work with numerous youth groups to teach fly tying and fly fishing.”
In addition to monthly meetings, they conduct twice monthly fishing trips to the many rivers and lakes that we are blessed with throughout Oregon.  They also provide fly tying demonstrations throughout the area on request. www.santiamflycasters.com

Pete Bowers brings his best buddies, “Brodie” and “Taz” to entertain the families.  Brodie is a ten year old Green Wing Macaw.  She loves to be held, loves children and greets the kids that participate in the Home Depot Kids Building Class in Salem.

Taz is a fifteen year old Umbrella Cockatoo.  He loves people and is known to be a big talker.  Join Pete, “Brodie” and “Taz” for an educational afternoon.
