Uke-Dee-Do’s
The Uke-de-do's Ukulele Group started on March 9, 2010 with 3 people increasing to 5 people the following week. They were on their way. The purpose was to get a group of ukulele players of seniors together to play together, learn from each other, share with others what we are learning, and just having great fun. The group soon grew and the need arose for a beginners group to learn the ukulele and then be able to merge into the more advanced group. There is now two groups of about 30 ukulele-strumming seniors from the Woodburn Senior Estates and the surrounding community playing the ukulele every Tuesday almost entirely year around. They have a large repertoire of music which makes them able to play for most any holiday or event. They also share their love for the uke by entertaining for various community activities and facilities. Their joy and laughter is contagious, so prepare to be entertained and learn why the ukulele is a happy instrument.
